Tell us about you prior to your arrival in Ingram.
It is pleasant to remember that my professional career began on a B2B trade event organizer and publisher for Latin America like Caribbean IT. Even from my early days, I found it motivating to work with c-level executives and entrepreneurs all over the world interested in doing business in Latin America. Building connections to ease their sales, marketing, education efforts into the region while helping business thrive in emerging economies has always been an enjoyable challenge to me.
A lot has changed in the last 15 years, the speed and demands of business continue to increase and now more than ever is important to set clear plans and paths to reach business objectives in the contested IT market. I still consider that traditional values and strong work ethics are important components in the business equation, without them it is quite difficult to gain the trust of business partners. I consider myself a dynamic, dependable professional and despite the years of experience in the field of technology I remind myself that humility is necessary to maintain a growth mindset, to evolve, to keep up with innovation and to adapt to new ways of doing business in the era where digital disruptions have become omnipresent and unavoidable. As we ride these winds of changes, I hope to help our customers embrace them by establishing B2B strategic alliances that allow the progress of sustained profitable business for technology enterprises across the region.
What are your plans with HP for this year?
Ingram Micro continues to be a strong HPI distribution partner globally helping business maximize the value of the technology that they make, sell or use. Ingram Micro enables business partners to operate more efficiently and successfully in the markets they serve. The plans for this partnership in the Caribbean region encompass a strong support with a Best-in-class Partner First program that allows the evolution of business, the flow of information and capability to deliver a better end-user experience. Ingram Micro and HP Inc. provide a robust offering of core business systems that combine unique price-feature balance, a growing consumer portfolio, and advanced specialty computing products paired with distribution logistics and financial services that allow partners to capitalize opportunities driven by the digital transformation wave and global megatrends in the IT sector.
What can you tell us about the Boot Camp experience in Barbados?
The HP Boot Camp was a productive investment of time and resources to give our Barbados partners the necessary tools to properly position the complete portfolio of HP computing solutions in the Caribbean country with the support of Ingram Micro. A special focus on exposing the capabilities of HP Sales Central, latest HP Business systems generations, workstation and retail solutions demonstrated the strength of HP Inc. business portfolio. A portfolio which is ahead of the curve and the reason HP has become the number one manufacturer of systems globally.
The Boot camp allowed us to do a deep-dive on the latest HP innovations based on modern designs, strong security features and collaboration tools; three pillars that aligned with IT megatrends are driving the change in the way we work and use our devices.
Participants were reminded about the vision and motivation of the new HP Inc.: to create technology that makes life better for everyone, everywhere — every person, every organization, and every community around the globe. To make this a reality, the investment on a channel ecosystem is a vital and centric part of what this Boot camp was all about.
During the first half of HP fiscal year 2018 it has been important to democratize tools, share knowledge and information with the partner ecosystem. In this way, they can be more effective in solving their customer’s IT challenges.
We plan to take this training to other corners of the region we serve from Miami. Stay tuned!
